Paula van Beek
Paula van Beek is an artist passionate about exploring new forms for creative work.
Over a 25-year portfolio career in the arts industry she has accumulated a wide range of skills and experiences in both Aotearoa and Australia. She has extensive experience leading and delivering audience-facing outcomes, presenting works in galleries, theatres, warehouses, car-parks, on river banks and online.

Paula has worked as a performance maker and dramaturg in theatre and dance, with a focus on devising with design. Her scenography skills include lighting, spatial and AV design.
As a freelance Creative Producer, with a speciality in concept ideation and narrative development, she makes and supports experiences, installations and events at many scales.
As an artist, within an expanded performance practice she is in conversation with site, self and subjective perception. Paula creates socially engaged live art and gallery experiences with digital video and smartphone strategies.
As an arts educator Paula shares her skills and knowledge with the next generation of performance makers and producers.
