Shadow and Ash is a manipulated space performance installation
inspired by visual artist John Wolseley’s concept of tracing movement through landscape. Within the work, the space - as Australian landscape, is endowed as a palimpsest – a document on which many histories are written and written over, though never completely erased. These layers remain as ghosts, echoes, shadows and traces. This work premiered in the 2006 Melbourne International Arts Festival as part of the VCA / DasArts Navigators project. Choreographer / Performer : Jade Dewi Tyas Tunggal Animateur / live light: Paula van Beek Sound design: Declan Kelly |
